DWR’s Directors have worked alongside each other for over a decade, and previously all held senior management positions at a leading oil and gas engineering consultancy based in London. Drawing on a wide range of backgrounds in various industries, all three have significant experience in the offshore energy sector, and a proven track record in delivery of large and complex projects.

Before starting DWR, James and Tim previously held senior management positions at a leading oil and gas engineering consultancy based in London. Drawing on a wide range of backgrounds in various sectors, they each have over 15-years’ experience in the offshore energy sector specifically, and bring with them huge experience at both technical and commercial levels.
James Diddams
Director
James is a Chartered Engineer and Fellow of IMaREST, with far-reaching technical and construction experience in the offshore energy sector. Working initially in the aerospace industry, James quickly transitioned into the renewable industry working for a leading offshore wind foundation consultancy, where he worked for a number of years in both the UK and Denmark, before embarking a career in the offshore floating oil and gas sector in 2009. Thereafter, James spent a very successful period as General Manager of a leading oil and gas sector mooring company at its Asia Pacific division, before returning to the UK to become a company director. Whilst here, he was technically responsible for delivering large turret mooring system Engineering, Procurement and Construction contracts, some with values in excess of $100 million. With over 15 years’ experience of working in design offices, fabrication yards and offshore, James’s possesses huge expertise in the areas of concept design selection, structural design, construction and installation studies for offshore wind foundations, wave, tidal and OTEC devices.
Tim Wood
Director
Tim is a masters’ degree graduate in a naval architecture from Southampton University, and has two decades’ experience working in both the defence and the offshore sectors. Working during the formative part of his career as a naval architect on the Royal Navy's Queen Elizabeth Class Aircraft Carriers, in 2006 he went on to work for a leading offshore oil and gas specialist design company based in London, spending the last four years of his eleven year tenure here as Managing Director. During this period, the company became a major player in the Engineering, Procurement and Construction market within the oil and gas moorings sector, and its annual turnover and profitability were increased by over 20%. A veteran of many offshore campaigns, Tim’s areas of technical expertise lie specifically in mooring system design, mooring concept selection and offshore installation operations.
